RHOD GILBERT & FRIENDS: HOOF CANCER RIGHT WHERE IT HURTS

1 OCTOBER – WALES MILLENNIUM CENTRE, CARDIFF – IN AID OF VELINDRE FUNDRAISING

We’re delighted to announce that Rhod will be hosting his third ‘Hoof Cancer’ gig on behalf of Velindre Fundraising. Previous events have included a stellar line up of Rhod’s friends including Greg Davies, John Bishop, Kiri Pritchard McLean, Russell Howard, Angela Barnes and Michael Mcintyre.

The event will raise funds for Rhod’s next Velindre trek which takes place in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains in October. This will be the sixth Velindre tree that Rhod has led, following on from the 2013 Kilimanjaro Trek of a Lifetime, Patagonia in 2015, Peru in 2016, Nepal in 2019 and Cuba in 2022.

The Morocco trek will be particularly poignant as it will be the first trek that Rhod has led since his cancer diagnosis in May 2022.

Rhod said: “To say this one will be special is an understatement. The treks are always amazing experiences, fun, interesting, moving and inspiring, but this time I can add the fact that I owe Velindre my life. The Hoof Cancer gigs are always a chaotic highlight of my calendar. No idea who I’ll rope in, but you can bet it’ll be another cracking line-up of brilliant comedians all giving their time for free for Velindre”.

Andrew Morris, head of fundraising at Velindre said” “It is entirely typical of Rhod that having led five incredibly successful trips for Velindre raising over £1.8 million, his first thoughts after becoming a Velindre patient was to aim to lead yet another trek. We are so grateful to have him as a Velindre Patron and the Hoof Cancer concert will be a wonderful way for everyone to show their affection and support for Rhod before he leaves for Morocco”.

The show at the Millennium Centre has SOLD OUT.
